Jean J. Martone, Principal
Jean Martone's expertise in employee benefits spans more than two decades. Her diverse background includes benefits consulting and corporate benefits administration across a variety of industries, including financial services, retail and manufacturing. As a specialist in defined contribution plans, she has evaluated countless plans and providers for businesses of all sizes to find just the right match.
Prior to the launch of Martone Consultants, Martone served as a long-time senior consultant for Wallach & Associates, Inc. Projects included developing the firm?s Request for Proposal (RFP) methodology, conducting key vendor searches, overseeing vendor conversions, and working on regulatory-related projects. She also assisted clients in compliance-related issues and in understanding and completing Form 5500 and other government reporting requirements.
Martone also has extensive experience dealing with plan merger issues and IRS correction programs. Her prior corporate roles include serving as vice president and manager of qualified plans for Shearson Lehman Brothers, where she was responsible for the design and administration of five defined contribution plans. Earlier, she was employed at Kwasha Lipton and with a small New York boutique benefits firm, where she designed and structured flexible 401(k) recordkeeping systems.
Martone holds a B.A. in Economics (with a Concentration in Finance) from Douglass College, Rutgers University. An active member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network, she also holds a NJ State Producer License in Life and Health Insurance. |
